Plan with Me Day Designer: Hello Kitty

Today's plan with me is a look inside my Day Designer. I discovered this planner from a fellow planner girl on YouTube and I have to admit I think I bought it originally because of the hype it was getting. It didn't help that Target was were I found it. I swear if Target carries something I have to have it. As I started to use it though I fell in love with how easy it is to use and how it truly keeps me organized. I like my Happy Planner but one thing that bothered me in the no matter how well I preplanned my events would wind up out of order. I know it has morning, afternoon, and evening boxes but then I get into a tizzy trying to figure out if 4:00 is afternoon or evening and little stuff like that really bothers me. I love how I can see my appointments laid out in the order that they occur in my Day Designer. The visual of that keeps me more organized.  The charms I have on my planner is I bracelet I got from my aunt when my son was baptized.

I keep a to do list in the front of my planner so as I think of things that need to get done in the future I write them down right away so I don't forget. Then on Monday or Tuesday after I get my work schedule written in my planner I go through and assign all the tasks a day.

I also keep a shopping list in the back of my planner in an attempt to keep me from impulse buying. Not saying it works, just merely an attempt lol!

Now I'm not the biggest fan of Hello Kitty. The stickers are cute but it's not something I'm crazy about. I saw a plan with me of YouTube where a girl had some Hello Kitty stickers and I guess I just bought into her excitedness and felt I had to have them. That seems to happen a lot to me!

I like to keep the decorating in this planner simple. For me this one is my most functional planner and I don't want my decorating to get in the way of that but I still want it to look cute. Usually I just stick to stickers and washi but I really want to start working some stamps into it.

Here is what a day looks like. I do try to color code my appointments in my planner. I have always been a pen nut and a color coding nerd. In college I used a different colored pen for every class. Now I tend to get a little obsessive about my pens. If I was in science class and needed my green pen for taking notes but couldn't find it; there was NO WAY I would just use another color pen. I would kinda have a panic attack. I would rather not take notes than use a different pen. Ask my husband. He witnessed this a more than a few times! Anyways, I use pink for anything I have going on, green for my son, orange for family events, and light blue for my to do list. If the time doesn't quite fit when my appointment starts I just write over the top of it. I like how the Day Designer has a top 3 to do's as well as the longer to do list. I almost always have working out and bible reading in my top 3 everyday. Most of my everyday to dos just end up on the long list even if I have a top 3 slot open. I don't do any preplanning for this planner. I plan in my Happy Planner first and then use that as I work in my Day Designer.

Not sure what theme I'll do for next week. Any suggestions?
