Thursday Workout Circuit
Hello friends! Tonight I wanted to share my workout from this morning. I took a circuit class last week at the Y for the first time. I decided that type of class wasn't for me. It was too fast paced and I am a big believer in quality versus quantity and accuracy versus speed. I do however like how you can work a variety of muscles through a completed circuit. I put together my own circuit. Check it out:
20 Chest presses (12.5lbs)
20 Squats (15 lb bar)
20 Kettle bell chops (10lbs)
20 tricep dips
20 lunges (no weight this time)
Medicine ball ab extensions
Repeat 3 times
3rd time end with 30 burpees
Now my intention was to do this workout 3 times through but I ran a little short on time so I did it twice and then ended with 3 sets of 10 burpees each. I like this routine because it hits a variety of muscle groups including arms/chest, back, legs, and abs. Whenever I do a new workout for the first time I go easy on the weights so I don't over do the first set and have no strength for the remaining sets. After doing this circuit I know that next time I can increase my weight in just about every area. I think between that and getting a third set will really give me that pump I am looking for. Another thing to add is I am focusing on toning my muscles instead of building bigger muscles so I am doing more reps at a lighter weight instead of less reps and heavier weight.
One last note: I know to make this post better I should probably have included pictures to go with each exercise. I will remind you that I workout at 5 AM and I'm sure you will not want to see what I look like at that time in the morning! I hope to do more of these posts as I am trying to make this blog more of a lifestyle blog and recently it has been heavy on the crafting and planning side. If you have any suggestions for blog posts or if there is something you would like to see, leave me a comment!
