July in Review
I cannot believe July is almost over! We have been so busy it has just flown right on by. Here is a wrap up of how we spent the time!
July 4th- We spent the 4th out at my grandparent's lake cabin. We were a little torn because this was our 1st 4th living in Mandan and because we were at the lake we missed the big 4th of July parade. We used to live in Bismarck which is like a 10 minute drive from one city center to the other but our new house is practically on the parade route. Oh well, I guess there is always next year! Sunday (the 3rd) wasn't very nice and we missed the fireworks display because it stormed but Monday was BEAUTIFUL! Then after the lake we headed to my parents' house to watch fireworks. In Bismarck you can only light fireworks if you live out of city limits, which my parents do! My son has issues with loud noises so he played inside most of the evening. My daughter also didn't like the noise but we found a pair of shooting headphones that she wore and then she was able to watch.
The 23rd we officially welcomed Justina into our family when she married my brother. It was such an awesome day! It started out pretty rainy in the morning but by the time the ceremony was over, the rain and clouds had gone away leaving nothing but sunshine and heat behind! It was so nice to get to see family that we don't normally get to.
Other than those major events, we enjoyed swimming in the backyard pool, going to movies, watching my kids grow (all 3 of them!). I am feeling good these days. At 20 weeks pregnant, I am still tired from time to time but not like in the beginning. I struggled with acid reflux so much that I had to be put on a medication for it so now I actually enjoy eating! I have gone from feeling little flutters to real kicks. No one else has been able to feel them yet so I'm just soaking it all in! We had our big ultrasound last week and the baby looks great! The coolest thing about that appointment was that my husband got to find out what we are having. I still don't know and don't want to. I know that sounds weird that only one of us knows and no I don't think he will spill it. As soon as I found out he had read the note from the lab tech and told me he knew I was so excited for him! He is so proud of his kids it just makes my heart melt. I am also staying crafty. I made a mini album for my new sister-in-law to document their wedding and I printed out a bunch of pictures to get caught up with my Project Life albums.
Now while we were blessed with all these great memories, my husband and I witnessed an accident that I think is fair to say will forever change our lives. I plan on writing a separate post about it soon but for now just know that I hugged my babies a lot tighter that day. It's something we are still dealing with and I am so thankful for my faith and the friends and family in my life that have helped us deal with the event and make some sense of it.
So since I can't end on a sad note here's what you can expect to see in the next month. I still for the life of me cannot find my Flip and it is driving me insane!!! I tried to record some videos with my phone and with my little point and shoot camera but it is not the same and much more difficult to work with. I am hoping to get more blogging done. I plan to do a July favorites post next week as July officially comes to a close. I will also try to take and post pictures of my planners and anything else I am working on craft wise. I am really trying not to let the fact that I can't film right now bother me. The show must go on!
