12 Crafts of Christmas Day #2

Welcome to the 2nd day of Christmas crafts! I'm kinda cheating on this one because it's something I've been working on for a few weeks and you probably could have used this idea before December started but maybe it will give you an idea for next year. Today's featured craft is a December Daily mini album. I've talked about my DD in past posts but in case you missed them I'll give you a little background on DD. This concept was created by Ali Edwards. Her focus in doing a December Daily is to capture the stories you or your family makes leading up to Christmas and doing so a little everyday in some kind of scrapbook/journal of your choosing.  This is my first year doing a DD and I intend on continuing the tradition every year. I have noticed it makes me more aware of not only the big things that happen in December (Santa!) but also the little things (progress my son is making!). I also make it a point to schedule in more activities as a family. So here are a few pages I worked on today. Notice they are from the 1st and 2nd of December. The goal of completing a layout everyday, even in a mini album, really is unattainable for me. I keep a journal to help me remember what's happened on a given day and then I print out 3-4 days of pictures at one time. I then place the pictures and journaling cards in my book and go back later and embellish. So I have a few mostly completed pages for you to check out.

This page comes right after my intentions page. I'm not exactly sure what I am going to use it for at this point, I think I will do a good chunk of journaling revolving around the believe sentiment (yes I know it's spelled wrong on my page lol).

Sorry for the glare on these pages. The tag journaling card and the 'Be Merry' pictures are my favorite other than the beautiful pictures of my kiddos :)
I liked the photos so much on this spread that I wanted to leave them as simple as possible and not go over board with embellishments.

I feel good about the progress I'm making in my album. I have layouts preplanned in my album up until the 4th of December and a small pile of pictures on my desk that I will be working on tonight and tomorrow. I highly recommend adding a December Daily to your holiday traditions. As long as you keep it simple and let the stories speak for themselves you will have a wonderful keepsake to remissness with in years to come.
